This tutorial assumes that you have successfully
recorded your voice overlay and published your presentation to your streaming
media directory in your Facweb account.
- Start FrontPage and open up your
website. Find the specific page on which you would like to create a
link to your presentation.
- Go to your "File" menu and
choose "New->Page". Click on "Normal Page"
and then click the OK button.
- Once your new blank page appears, click on the
tab at the bottom of the screen labeled "HTML". This
tab is directly in between the two tabs labeled "Normal"
and "Preview".
- Erase EVERYTHING on this page.
- Type in the following line of text:
rtsp://facweb.tcnj.edu:554/kapp_streaming/Creating_Streaming_Presentations/trainer.smi
- Replace the blue
text with your Facweb account name. Make sure this is typed in all lowercase letters.
- Replace the green
text with the name of
your presentation directory. You should have noted this when you
published your presentation.
- Go to your "File"
menu and choose "Save-as". Select "All Files
(*.*)" from the "Save as type" drop down
list.
- Choose a folder in which to
hold this new page.
- Give this file a name that you
will remember. In this case, you could call it "creating_streaming_presentations.ram"
You MUST end your filename with ".ram"
- Click the "Save"
button.
- Now you can type in your link text (i.e. "Click
here to view my presentation"), or insert an image that will serve
as a link anchor. Highlight the text or the image and choose "Hyperlink"
from the "Insert" menu. Select the file that you just
created (creating_streaming_presentations.ram) from this list and
click the OK button.
- Save your page.
That's it! You should be able to open up any web
browser and view your streaming presentation. Please note that to view
your presentation, you must have the Real Player plug-in installed on your
computer. You may wish to include a link to the Real Player homepage on
your website so that users who lack the player can download it if
needed.
If you would like to add a link to the Real Player
homepage, you may use the following graphic if you wish. The address of
the Real Player homepage is http://www.real.com.
