Real Presenter is a fairly simple software package to
use. Successfully building a web based streaming presentation is a 5 step
process.
|
|
|
|
|
1 |
Request
Access to a Streaming Media Server |
Before you
begin developing streaming presentations, you need to have special access
to a server that will deliver your content to users all over the
world. Without this access, your content cannot be published onto
your website.
To request access, please fill out this application
form. The Instructional Technology coordinator will contact you
with information regarding the status of your account (this is usually
accomplished within 48 hours). |
|
|
|
|
| 2 |
Prepare
your presentation |
There are
two types of presentations that you may create using Real Presenter -
PowerPoint Presentations and Web Tour Presentations.
If you will be creating a PowerPoint presentation,
you will need to obtain a copy of your slides. If possible, put the
presentation on a floppy disk or ZIP disk so that you can easily bring it
over to Instructional Technology Services.
If you will be creating a Web Tour presentation,
come up with a listing of all the websites you would like to include in
your tour. |
|
|
|
|
| 3 |
Record
your voice overlay (PowerPoint or Web
Tour) |
Now you
must record your captions in time with the presentation. To do this,
please make and appointment to visit Instructional
Technology Services.
The processes for creating both types of
presentations are similar, but there are key differences in both
procedures. Please click either "PowerPoint"
or "Web Tour" to continue. |
|
|
|
|
| 4 |
Publish
your presentation (TofuPup or Facweb) |
Once you
have recorded your presentation, you must publish it to your network
account. Click on the name of the server you wish to publish to in
the left cell to learn how to accomplish
this.
Note: unless told otherwise, you will probably
be publishing to TofuPup.
|
|
|
|
|
| 5 |
Link
your presentation from a web page (TofuPup
or Facweb) |
Finally,
you must provide a link from your homepage to your presentation.
Follow the link to the left to go through a step-by-step tutorial on how
to do this correctly.
Note: unless told otherwise, you will
probably be linking to a resource located on TofuPup.
|
|
|
|
|
That's pretty much all you need to do in order to have
fully functional streaming presentations available from your website! If
you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, please contact the
Instructional Technology Coordinator directly at kapp@tcnj.edu.
